Sindile Lester Peteni (Lester)

Non-executive Chairman

Lester is a UCT B.Sc. graduate and brings his many years of leadership experience across a variety of industries to ConvergeNet Holdings. Lester has been a contract manager with the Urban Foundation, a technical services manager with the Uluntu Utility Company and the managing director of Khagula Property Developers, amongst others. He is currently involved in fishing, shipping, technology and petroleum, and serves as director on the board of Basil Read Holdings Ltd. Lester is a founding member of ConvergeNet Holdings

Pieter Willem Johannes Bouwer (Pieter)

Chief Executive Officer

A true industry veteran, Pieter offers more than 30 years' valuable experience of the ICT sector where he served in several executive, and general management positions. During the earlier part of his career, Pieter was involved with companies such as Olivetti, Amdahl, ICL and Philips; in the later part, he served as an Executive Director at Sybase SA and more recently he was one of the Group Executive Directors at the AST Group, now called GijimaAst. His executive responsibilities included strategy, the industry solutions businesses, the managed services businesses as well as marketing. Pieter is a founding member of ConvergeNet Holdings.
 

Gordon Stanley Edwards (Gordon)

Executive Director

Gordon is an international business developer and entrepreneur in the IT Service and Telecommunications sectors. Having led the formation of numerous consortia in different geographies, Gordon has an in-depth understanding of both the challenges and the opportunities emerging markets present. He was a founding member of Datatec and a part of the team that listed the company in 1994. Subsequent to the listing, Gordon took charge of the mobile subsidiaries' growth within the international market and served as Executive Chairman of the Datatec subsidiary, RangeGate (UK). It was in this role that he architected and led an international expansion strategy, which saw the subsidiary successfully enter the UK market. After leaving Datatec in 2002, Gordon became a founding member of the Adage Group of Companies in the UK. The Group plays advisory and principal roles in telecommunication-, IT- and financial services businesses in the UK and in Africa. Gordon serves as director on several boards - both in the UK and locally. Gordon is a founding member of ConvergeNet Holdings.

 

Michelle Krastanov (Michelle)

Non-Executive Director

Michelle is a CA(SA), qualifying and spending seven years with Price Waterhouse, after joining in January 1987. In 1994, Michelle moved into Corporate Finance, running her own business until joining Arcay Moela Sponsors (Pty) Ltd ("Arcay") in October 2001 to start the sponsor business. Michelle now heads up the company within Arcay that is responsible for sponsor and designated advisor activities, assists with acquisitions and negotiations and other ancillary services.

Norman Ross Macdonald (Ross)

Non-Executive Director

Ross is an international business developer and entrepreneur in the IT and Telecommunications sectors. He was a part of the MTN start-up team in 1993 and served as Group Executive for International Business Development thereafter. Ross architected the international expansion strategy and led the Group in many successful bids for mobile licenses across the African continent. After leaving MTN in 2002, he relocated to the UK where he continued his work in Telecommunications by operating a specialist Telecoms advisory and consulting business. Ross is a director of numerous companies, both in the UK - where he resides - and in South Africa. A UCT graduate, Ross holds a B.Sc. degree in Engineering as well as an MBA. Ross is a founding member of ConvergeNet Holdings.

Sandile Swana (Sandile)

Non-Executive Director

After matriculating at St. John's College in Umtata, Sandile first completed a B.Comm through Wits under the Anglo American Scholarship Programme and later the Business Advisors Programme at the WBS Centre for Developing Business. Sandile also graduated from the University of Pretoria with an MBA and from UNISA with a B.Th in Ethics. He was then offered a sponsorship from the Department of Transport for part of a B. Comm. Honours (Logistics), which he completed through UNISA. Sandile prepared and presented several conference papers for IPSA, the Supply Chain Council and SAPICS over the years. He also spent seven years in the retail sector with both Caltex Oil and Zenex Oil where he gained valuable experience in business planning, oil retail and general management. Sandile also served as group operations manager with the JSE-listed Don Group for a time. At present, Sandile serves as non-executive director on the boards of two JSE-listed companies, namely Aflease Gold and Matodzi Resources. He is also a member of the Institute of Directors.

Mpho Innocent Scott (Mpho)

Non-Executive Director

Mpho served as a Member of Parliament for nine years and is a well established, recognized business executive. During his Parliamentary Service, Mpho participated in the Constitutional assembly that drafted the final Constitution for our country and chaired some of the Parliamentary committees. He undertook several study tours abroad, completed various business management courses locally and attended the Chevron Texaco Leadership Forum in the USA. Mpho is involved in shipping, technology, energy and petroleum products. At present he is also a director and chairman of a number of companies.

David Michael Braine (David)

Executive Director

David is the founding member and CEO of Structured Connectivity Services (SCS), where he has a 49% shareholding. David holds a number of diplomas in management and enjoys various ICT consulting certifications. He has been active in the ICT industry for the past 18 years, 10 years of which was spent with Dimension Data as Account Director. Over the years, David forged strong working relationships with many of South Africa's blue chip companies on whose behalf he managed the implementation of large-scale and complex IT Solutions projects to successful completion.

Tim Molefe Modise (Tim)

Non-Executive Director

Tim has been a well-known broadcasting personality for more than 27 years now. He was a political analyst for Credit Suisse First Boston until 2002 and chaired the Proudly South African campaign until 2005. He received the Best Broadcaster Radio award in 1991 and the Rotary award for Community Service in 1999. In 2001, Tim won the Reconciliation award, the TV and Radio Presenter award, the President's award and the Communicator of the Year award. Subsequent to that, he also received the Paul Harris award (2002), the "Best Man" award (2004) and the Old Mutual leadership award (2004). The prestigious Jaime Brunet award for the promotion of human rights, previously awarded to the Dalai Lama, was bestowed on Tim in 2003. He currently serves on the board of Sizwe as a Non-executive director where he holds a minority share.

Kgaume Benjamin James Kekana (Ben)

Executive Director

Ben originally started his career in the textile industry where he remained for a total of fifteen years. Then, after a brief sojourn in the advertising world, Ben made a successful transition to the IT sector where he became a partner in Comsel4. In 2002, Ben was involved in the establishment of Sizwe, where he currently serves as Executive Chairman and in which he retains a minority shareholding. Ben is also a director of various local companies.

Daniel Frederik Bisschoff (Danie)

Executive Director

Danie obtained his BCom (Hons) and CTA degree from the University of Pretoria in 1983 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984 whilst at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC). He left PWC in 1992 and entered the IT industry, initially to set up the Mergers and Acquisitions department for what was then known as Infoplan. Over the years he gained extensive experience within the ICT industry in all facets, including the set-up of a number of ICT companies, corporate finance, financial management, business and executive management, the most recently, prior to his current position, at GijimaAst. He joined ConvergeNet Holdings Limited in August of this year as group financial manager and has now been appointed as Chief Financial Officer for the ConvergeNet Holdings group. He serves on the boards of various companies and resides in South Africa.

Hanno van Dyk (Hanno)

Executive Director

Hanno qualified as an accountant in 1986 after studying through the University of Pretoria and UNISA. After practicing as an accountant in a Civil Engineering concern for a few years, Hanno entered the IT sector as an entrepreneur to successfully run his own business for a period of six years. In 2000, Hanno joined Comsel4 as a partner and in 2002 became involved in the establishment of Sizwe, where he currently serves as Financial Director and in which he retains a minority shareholding.
